About The Position

Austin Industries is seeking interns for its 2027 Summer Accounting Internship Program. This paid, 12-week full-time program offers hands-on experience in various accounting processes within the construction industry. Interns will collaborate with the accounting team, gain exposure to month-end close, analyze financial health of projects, and participate in social and volunteer events. The program was ranked as one of the Top 100 Internship Programs of 2024 and 2026. Interns will report to the corporate headquarters in Dallas, TX, and have the opportunity to visit active project sites.

Requirements

  • Must be an active junior or senior college student working toward a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Targeted graduation date between December 2026 and December 2027
  • Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week
  • Must be able to commute onsite to assigned location
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. Austin Industries is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and review balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare, analyze, and review monthly SGA departments
  • Prepare and enter journal entries
  • Scan backup and supporting document into CMiC (ERP system)
  • Assist in the mid-year forecast process
  • Assist various levels and sub-departments within the accounting team on special projects
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports

  • Overtime will be paid for any hours in excess of 40 at a rate one and one-half times the employee-owner’s regular rate.
