About The Position

Continental Resources’ Summer Internship Program provides meaningful, career-specific experiences and hands-on insight into the oil and gas industry. Interns have the opportunity to be mentored by experienced professionals, network with fellow interns and professionals from other companies, and gain exposure to various departments within Continental. The program includes an opportunity to present summer projects to management and experienced professionals. The Accounting/Finance Intern will provide support to one of the following departments within Continental’s Accounting/Finance areas: Treasury/Planning; Property Accounting; Joint Interest; Audit; Revenue and Material Control.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in 4 year college or university
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Eligible to work permanently in the United States upon graduation
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Proven team player.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong customer focus and a team player.
  • Effective time management.

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

Responsibilities

  • Process monthly data including inputting, coding, scanning, copying and distributing of reports & information.
  • Preparation of journal entries with all applicable backup documentation and proposed accounts & cost centers.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
  • Analyze and account for all payments for oil and gas sales from operated and non-operated properties.
  • Analyze Joint Interest billings for compliance with Joint Operating Agreements and industry guidelines.
  • Analyze and account for purchases of services, equipment, and materials used in drilling, completing and producing oil wells.
  • Research, analyze and resolve disputes with third party working interest owners, operators and vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
