The 2027 Summer Internship for Finance & Accounting Analyst is located at PIMCO’s Newport Beach, CA Headquarters. The Finance team is responsible for PIMCO’s financial management, including financial planning and analysis, risk management, accounting and controls, and reporting. The team provides reliable financial analysis and reporting to enable strategic business decisions. With over 100 professionals globally, the Finance team offers expertise worldwide. Interns will gain a preview of the Finance team, exposure to the firm's financial drivers, financial operations, accounting, and strategic decision-making. The program offers a wide network across Finance and exploration of various facets of finance operations. Potential project areas include Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Client Billing, and partnering with the Executive Office.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Must be able to begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028.
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027).
  • Minimum 3.4 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Business proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
  • Effective analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to produce high-quality work and attention to detail to ensure work is delivered completely, accurately, and timely.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire to join a high-performance, fast-paced culture.
  • Collaborative, organized, flexible, motivated self-starter, innovative, multi-tasker.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and experience in using new emerging technologies and AI tools in work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reliable financial analysis and reporting to enable strategic business decisions and initiatives.
  • Work on projects within areas such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Client Billing, and partnering with the Executive Office.
  • Gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one.
  • Participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training.
  • Participate in PIMCO's Global Month of Volunteering.
  • Attend cross-divisional education, networking & social events.
  • Receive guidance and mentorship from supervisors, peer mentors, senior leaders, and team members.
  • Engage in a formal review process with feedback at mid- and end-of-summer.
