About The Position

Devon’s Accounting and Tax Internships and Co-Ops provide students with the opportunity to learn and apply accounting and tax principles in a professional office environment. Students participate in both team and individual assignments, gaining exposure to real-world accounting tasks and projects. This program is designed to help students develop technical and professional skills while exploring potential career opportunities at Devon.

Requirements

Full-time student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related disciplines.
College level: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
Advanced computer proficiency, with the ability to optimize and automate processes.
Curious and eager to explore AI, data, and technology, with opportunities to engage with emerging digital tools and innovations.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of oil and gas industry practices is a plus

Responsibilities

Perform duties typically assigned to entry-level accountants.
Apply general accounting and tax concepts to daily, monthly, and quarterly assignments.
Prepare and post journal entries; assist with general ledger reconciliations and account analysis.
Assist with the preparation, review, and distribution of financial statements, management reports, and/or tax returns.
Participate in process improvement initiatives and help identify opportunities for increased efficiency.
Participate in diversified on-the-job assignments to enhance technical skills.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with various departments.
Present findings and learnings to team members and/or management.
