The 2027 Summer Internship for a Finance & Accounting Analyst is located at PIMCO’s Newport Beach, CA Headquarters. The Finance team is responsible for the company's financial management, encompassing financial planning and analysis, risk management, accounting and controls, and reporting. This team provides essential financial analysis and reporting to support strategic business decisions and initiatives. With over 100 professionals globally, the Finance team offers expertise across various operating jurisdictions. Interns will gain insight into the Finance team's functions, the firm's financial drivers, financial operations, accounting practices, and strategic decision-making processes. The program offers networking opportunities across the Finance department, with potential project areas including Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Client Billing, and collaboration with the Executive Office.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • Must be able to begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028.
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027).
  • Have a minimum 3.4 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • Are business proficient in English.
  • Possess knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
  • Have effective analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Have a strong commitment to produce high-quality work and attention to detail to ensure work is delivered completely, accurately, and timely.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Have a desire to join a high-performance, fast-paced culture.
  • Are collaborative, organized, flexible, motivated self-starter, innovative, multi-tasker.
  • Have demonstrated curiosity and experience in using new emerging technologies and AI tools in your work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reliable financial analysis and reporting to enable strategic business decisions and initiatives.
  • Gain exposure to financial drivers of the firm, financial operations and accounting, and strategic decision making.
  • Work on projects within areas such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Client Billing, and partnering with the Executive Office.
  • Participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training.
  • Participate in PIMCO's Global Month of Volunteering.
  • Join cross-divisional education, networking & social events.
  • Gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one.
  • Receive feedback at mid- and end-of-summer as part of a formal review process.
