About The Position

CLA is hiring Accounting Consultants, also called Engagement Directors, for its Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) team. CAAS provides customized accounting support to clients, typically those with more than $50 million in revenue, on an interim and project basis. The role provides variety and flexibility, and offers opportunities to choose engagements and travel based on availability and openness to travel. Engagement Directors are hourly employees with access to a full benefits package.

Engagement Directors serve as high-level interim or project-based accounting resources for clients across various industries, supporting accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles. They also design and improve accounting processes and take an active, hands-on role in executing client engagements.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant work experience, including public accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; a combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with a variety of accounting software.

Nice To Haves

• 10 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Prior industry experience equivalent to CFO, Controller, SEC Reporting Manager, or Internal Audit Manager preferred.
• Big Four experience is valued.
• A degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred.
• CPA certification preferred but not required.
• Prior project management experience preferred.
• Exceptional client service management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a high-level interim or project-based accounting resource for clients in various industries across accounting, finance, tax, and audit roles.
• Design and improve accounting processes, including monthly close, management and financial reporting, forecasting, consolidations, and system implementations.
• Take an active, hands-on approach in executing client engagements.
