About The Position

The Engagement Manager at Standish manages and leads all client engagements. In conjunction with the Engagement Director, the manager supervises the Fund Controller and Associate in fund accounting, capital account maintenance, and financial statement preparation. The role also oversees engagement delivery, audit and tax preparation processes, client and investor communications, and business development activities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree; a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is preferred.
At least 2 years of public accounting experience or equivalent.
At least 2 years of VC/PE fund experience or fund administrator experience, or at least 1 year as a manager at a public accounting firm.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

Previous Private Equity/VC experience and knowledge of Partnership Accounting.
CPA.

Responsibilities

Maintain frequent client contact to stay informed about ongoing fund activities.
Manage client expectations.
Manage engagements with consideration for client needs, staff utilization, and overall efficiency.
Supervise the audit and tax preparation process.
Review communications to clients and their investors on an ongoing basis.
Assist with sourcing new clients, issuing proposals, and overall business development.
Supervise the Fund Controller and Associate in fund accounting, capital account maintenance, and financial statement preparation, in conjunction with the Engagement Director.
