About The Position

The Westin Jackson, a Crescent Hotels & Resorts property, is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their Accounting Department team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations within the hotel. Requirements

  • Accounting experience.
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 2 to 3 years of related experience and/or training in hotel Finance.
  • Accounts Payable Focused.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to compile facts and figures.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Flexibility with scheduling.

Nice To Haves

  • Marriott brand experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and verify accuracy of Night Audit work, including reconciliation of banquet check extensions, coding of banquets at cost, and review/routing of sales and promotion checks with back-up.
  • Record department administration phone calls and inform Director of Finance of any potential concerns.
  • Post city ledger payments in the property management system, reconcile, and bill all city ledger accounts.
  • Perform follow-up billing and credit collection documentation, and inform the Controller of any potential uncollectible accounts.
  • Reconcile credit card back-up to the General Cashier Summary and inform the Controller of any discrepancies.
  • Bill out credit cards.
  • Maintain accurate and legible logs for all credit cards.
  • Set up new accounts in accordance with established credit policy.
  • Assist in reconciling open account status items.
  • Input General Cashier Summary and maintain binder.
  • File and distribute credit card cancellations, bulletins, and credit warnings.
  • Process and follow-up on all returned checks accepted as cash payment.
  • Record General Ledger and City Ledger reconciliations.
