About The Position

At McGuire Moorman Lambert Hospitality, we strive to create the world's most memorable experiences, blending food, service, and design seamlessly under the leadership of Liz Lambert, Larry McGuire, and Tom Moorman. Our refined hospitality is achieved through storytelling, attention to detail, and exceptional dining and retail experiences. MML is continuously expanding, managing, and owning hotels, such as the Hotel Saint Vincent in New Orleans, with new projects in Texas, Colorado, and California currently under development. We also provide F&B consultation for the Austin Proper Hotel, overseeing three restaurants, in-room dining, and banquets throughout the property. MML owns and operates all its properties and only takes on projects that align with our vision and values.

Requirements

  • Accounts Payable experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and Google Suite, is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable and maintenance of general ledgers.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial files.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accrual accounting practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail and accuracy is imperative.
  • Ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively.
  • A growth mindset and openness to ongoing learning, coaching, and constructive feedback.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least three years of bookkeeping experience is required, preferably in the restaurant industry.
  • The employee is regularly required to talk or listen.
  • The employee is frequently required to use hands or fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospitality and restaurant bookkeeping accounting are strongly preferred.
  • Associate’s degree with accounting coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounting records.
  • Ensure financial data is entered correctly and accurately.
  • Process high-volume accounts payable.
  • Prepare checks as and when necessary.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Follow a documented system of departmental accounting policies and procedures to ensure standardized controls over accounting transactions.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
