About The Position

Weaver's Accounting Advisory Services practice is expanding! With 75 years of experience supporting finance teams and providing accounting and finance guidance for our clients, Weaver’s practice offers strategic guidance and special project assistance on a temporary or ongoing basis. Our team has the knowledge and experience to consult on a variety of areas and specialties. We are seeking a Managing Director to provide general accounting and financial advisory services to our clients. This person will play an integral role in expanding Weaver’s service offerings, specifically in outsourced accounting, monthly financial reporting and U.S. GAAP financial statements. The candidate will be responsible to build and manage a growing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other relevant field
  • CPA license required or relevant accounting certification
  • 15+ years of experience in audit and/or accounting role with a minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting standards
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience preparing financial statements using GAAP or other basis of accounting
  • Knowledge of GAAP and standards related to compiled/reviewed financial statements
  • Experience with Excel at an advanced level including understanding and ability to use pivot tables, V-Lookups, H-Lookups, If/then statements, etc.
  • Demonstrated prior team supervision and management experience with team accountability
  • Demonstrated expert of business development, strategy, and practice development

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide general accounting and financial advisory services to clients.
  • Expand Weaver’s service offerings, specifically in outsourced accounting, monthly financial reporting and U.S. GAAP financial statements.
  • Build and manage a growing team.
  • Draft and/or review consolidated GAAP financial statements, work papers, footnotes, etc.
  • Perform technical accounting research on complex transactions and prepare documentation outlining issues and conclusions.
  • Manage, mentor and develop staff.
