About The Position

As an Accountant in the Finance team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the books and records of the company and its subsidiaries are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures. The accountant will collaborate with International Operations Accounting Manager to maintain highly detailed analytical reports supporting financial data. This position plays a key role in the production of monthly financial statements as well as year-end audit, annual budget and forecasts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience, preferably in the financial or travel insurance industry
• Bilingual French and English (spoken and written). English is used daily, particularly for conducting follow-ups with other departments in our various sites, whether in Ontario, Miami, Mexico or elsewhere
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of taxation regulations
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Excellent skills with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

• Professional designation of CPA would be an asset
• Knowledge of Workday and Adaptive would be an asset

Responsibilities

• Works in collaboration with the International Operations Accounting Manager and the site controllers to ensure the production of monthly financial statements
• Works in collaboration with the International Operations Accounting Manager to produce the external audit documentation
• Works in collaboration with the International Operations Accounting Manager in preparing financial analysis on financial statements, highlights performance issues and prepares reports for management
• Reconciles assigned general ledger account in a timely manner, including intercompany transactions
• Researches and resolves all outstanding, out-of-balance or stale-dated items
