About The Position

The Accountant supports dealership accounting operations by processing vehicle sales deals, verifying cost of sales, and posting journal entries to the general ledger. The role reconciles factory invoices, floor plan statements, bank accounts, and manufacturer rebate schedules, while maintaining and cleaning up core accounting schedules for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and vehicle inventory. The Accountant assists the Controller with monthly financial statements and manufacturer-specific financial reports, prepares monthly sales tax returns, and supports year-end audit preparations. The position requires strong Excel skills, attention to variance detection, and the ability to meet strict end-of-month manufacturer deadlines.

Requirements

At least 2 years of accounting experience.
Formal education in Accounting or equivalent working experience.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
A sharp eye for variance detection.
Ability to thrive in a professional environment and meet strict end-of-month manufacturer deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Dealership or automotive retail accounting experience.
Proficiency with dealership management systems (DMS) such as Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK Global, or Dealertrack.
