About The Position
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Sage Intacct and a strong understanding of accounting principles. This role works 5 days in office Silver Spring, MD.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
- Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
- Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Support annual audit requests and other financial projects.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Utilize Sage Intacct to process transactions, generate reports, and maintain financial records.
