About The Position

FBC Remodel is seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Accountant to join their team. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial health and success of the company's projects. The Accountant will work closely with designers, project managers, and craftsmen to manage financial records, prepare reports, and oversee accounts payable and receivable in a creative environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or minimum of five years in accounting experience.
Three to five years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Ideally desktop QuickBooks).
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and high level of reporting accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Oversee timely and accurate handling and recording of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Reconcile bank statements with company records and investigate/resolve discrepancies.
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Maintain and update files, documentation, and financial transactions of contracted trade partners.
Oversee company credit cards, receipts, and reimbursement process.
Enter new remodel projects into the accounting system and process/track change orders.
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approval of transactions.
Be responsible for year-end and month-end closing of the company-wide books.
Assist the Director of Finance with financial reporting and forecasting.
