About The Position

The Accountant is responsible for various accounting tasks as part of the Corporate General Ledger Accounting Team. This role will have the primary responsibility for maintaining an efficient, accurate and timely fixed asset subledger. Other key tasks include balance sheet account reconciliations, various cost allocations and other journal entries as part of the monthly financial close.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA Eligible
  • 2-3 years' relevant work experience in a medium-to-large corporate environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products with intermediate to advanced capabilities in MS Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Must understand the financial implications of various business decisions.
  • Highly motivated with strong problem-solving skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence
  • Ability to identify issues and implement solutions with all levels of management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Construction, engineering, or oil field services industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining Fixed Asset Ledger in the company ERP. This includes the preparation of the monthly PP&E Rollforward, Construction in Progress, and reconciliation to the General Ledger.
  • Month-end closing duties and account reconciliations including preparation of various cost allocations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Other recurring analysis and preparation of journal entries including prepaid account analysis and amortization, asset depreciation, and reconciliations.
  • Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations as part of the GL team and month-end close.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve questions from department managers relating to accounting transactions.
  • Assist in the Company’s evaluation of accounting process and have input for improvements.
  • Assist in efficiently sourcing data requests for external audits including the annual financial audit, tax audits and customer audits.
  • Help with monthly financial statement analysis as part of the closing process.
  • Compile financial data reports for other departments for budgeting purposes.
  • Manage and deposit checks to the bank and answer inquiries relating to checks.
  • Administrator and support contact for company credit card expenses- prepare monthly journal entries to expense and accrue monthly credit card expense. This includes running reports, assigning proper GL coding, and ensuring expense is accurately recorded for each month.
  • Support contact for cash expense reports and help record, review, and/or process expenses reimbursement by employees.
  • Create and update standard operating procedure files
  • Other duties as assigned.
