Kearney & Company is currently seeking an Accountant to join our team! The Accountant will help develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess clients' satisfaction, demonstrate proficiency with accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations, as well as identify and effectively communicate accounting and auditing matters to Managers and Principals. Additional skills and responsibilities are defined below. Support financial management and audit engagements for government agencies and federal clients, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements. Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for internal leadership and external stakeholders. Assist with the evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting, including walkthroughs, testing, documentation, and remediation support. Coordinate and manage Prepared by Client (PBC) requests, ensuring timely collection, organization, and delivery of supporting documentation during audit cycles. Identify accounting, audit, and reporting issues; communicate findings and recommendations effectively to Managers, Principals, and client personnel. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with client teams by providing responsive support, clear communication, and high-quality deliverables. Perform mid-level analytical reviews, variance analysis, and trend assessments to support financial statement accuracy and operational decision-making. Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions to create reports, track engagement status, analyze data, and improve reporting efficiency. Work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and client expectations across engagements.
