About The Position

As an Accountant supporting the Caterpillar Oil and Gas team, you will independently perform accounting functions which require preparation, analysis and communication of issues of normal to high complexity that support Caterpillar business processes. You will have the opportunity to become one of our future business leaders and be in a position to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as high levels of leadership and initiative. In addition, you will lead actuals reporting and forecasting for the Caterpillar Oil & Gas core business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business, through providing meaningful and timely insights & analysis, to understand results and drive improved financial performance
  • Drive accountability to achieve financial targets through facilitation of results meetings identifying performance gaps and actions to close
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the Oil & Gas Power Systems business
  • Drive standardization, simplification and efficiencies in finance processes
  • Coordinate reporting and analysis of non-financial metrics
  • Champion a strong internal control environment, including maintenance of Sox documentation
