Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, medical practice, or laboratory accounting preferred.
  • Healthcare-specific accounting experience is a plus but not required - we're happy to develop the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and prepare journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Support the daily cash management processes and balancing of receipts.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and file various financial returns monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Help maintain the integrity of financial data within the practice's accounting systems.
  • Process accounts payable, verify invoices, and ensure accurate, timely payments.
  • Assist with invoices and the application of incoming payments.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, working with vendors and internal teams as needed.
  • Prepare clear, accurate financial reports and schedules for review by the Controller and leadership.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring budgets and help analyze variances against actuals.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis that informs operational decision-making.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the HR Manager with payroll-related duties as needed.
