Successful candidates may be hired at either the Senior Accountant or Accountant level, with responsibilities and scope aligned to their qualifications, experience, and professional background.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree from a recognized educational institution
• A professional accounting designation (CPA)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Minimum 3 years of post CPA designation related experience in financial accounting
• Proven ability to communicate orally and in writing
• Ability to deliver under tight deadlines, using proven problem solving and prioritization skills
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Oracle Cloud and Power Query would be an asset
• Experience with utility accounting or working in a regulatory environment would be an asset

Responsibilities

• Complete account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Prepare journal entries
• Prepare and support regulatory filings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and/or operations
• Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
• Support external and internal audit requests
