Requirements
- Undergraduate degree from a recognized educational institution
- A professional accounting designation (CPA)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Minimum 3 years of post CPA designation related experience in financial accounting
- Proven ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to deliver under tight deadlines, using proven problem solving and prioritization skills
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Oracle Cloud and Power Query would be an asset
- Experience with utility accounting or working in a regulatory environment would be an asset
Responsibilities
- Complete account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Prepare journal entries
- Prepare and support regulatory filings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and/or operations
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
- Support external and internal audit requests
