About The Position

First Tactical is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial function. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Detail oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of accounting ERP systems (ABS preferred)
  • Able to adapt to shifting priorities, embrace new or evolving responsibilities, balance multiple demands from supervisors and peers
  • Maintains a calm, positive demeanor under pressure
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1157-1158.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, examine, and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements (as applicable).
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Work closely with accounts receivable and manage escalation of slow paying/trouble accounts, as needed, to ensure collection. Also, responsible for the management of customer credit limits and credit insurance policy.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to track expenses and optimize resource allocation.
  • Support external audits by preparing schedules, reports, and documentation.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Maintaining internal controls and accounting systems to support accuracy and prevent fraud.
  • Manage the reconciliation of general ledgers and balance sheet accounts with proper documentation and support.
  • Prepare financial statements for management and tax reporting.
  • Prepare reports, as needed, for business taxes and ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct internal audits and variance analyses to identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Forecasting cash flow and making recommendations based on performance data.
