About The Position

The Accountant II supports Milwaukee Tool’s Global Logistics accounting team. The role handles month-end close activities, including journal entries, invoice review and coding, and account reconciliations, and provides accounting support for freight costs. It also helps maintain accounting and controllership process compliance and controls, supports internal and external auditors, and works with cross-functional groups to improve business processes. The position requires analyzing quantitative data, preparing meaningful reports and ad hoc financial analyses, adapting to changing finance and operational needs, and supporting key projects led by the Global Logistics Accounting Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of corporate accounting experience.
• Proficiency with a large-scale ERP system.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and proficiency with PowerPoint.
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Supply Chain.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion.
• Public accounting experience or CPA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, reviewing and coding invoices, and performing account reconciliations.
• Provide leadership, support, and guidance for accounting aspects of freight costs.
• Maintain compliance with Accounting and Controllership department processes and controls.
• Support internal and external auditors by preparing schedules and discussing accounting policies and business practices.
• Work with cross-functional groups to create more efficient and accurate business processes.
• Pursue continuous improvement, identify non-value-added activities, and streamline processes.
• Collect, analyze, and manage quantitative data and create meaningful reports.
• Adapt to changing needs of finance and operational departments and prepare ad hoc “what if” financial analyses.
• Support the Global Logistics Accounting Manager on key projects.
