About The Position

As an Accountant II, you will support Milwaukee Tool’s Global Logistics accounting team. You will assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, invoice review and coding, and account reconciliations. The role provides support and guidance on accounting for freight costs, maintains compliance with Accounting and Controllership processes and controls, and supports internal and external auditors. You will collaborate across functions to improve business processes, eliminate non-value-added activities, and produce reports and ad hoc financial analyses. You will also support the Global Logistics Accounting Manager on key projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of corporate accounting experience.
• Proficiency with large-scale ERP systems.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and proficiency with PowerPoint.
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Supply Chain.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion.
• Public accounting experience or CPA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, reviewing and coding invoices, and performing account reconciliations.
• Provide leadership, support, and guidance for accounting aspects of freight costs.
• Maintain Accounting and Controllership department process compliance and controls.
• Support internal and external auditors by preparing schedules and discussing accounting policies and business practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups to create more efficient and accurate business processes.
• Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities and streamline processes as part of continuous improvement.
• Collect, analyze, and manage quantitative data and create meaningful reports.
• Adapt to changing needs of finance and operational departments and create ad hoc “what if” financial analysis.
• Support the Global Logistics Accounting Manager on key projects.
