Accountant II - Nuveen Green Capital
About The Position
The Accountant II provides timely and accurate financial record keeping and reporting for Nuveen’s Green Capital sustainable commercial real estate lending business. Under moderate supervision, the role performs accounting activities in accordance with applicable accounting principles and standards, helping ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. The position prepares journal entries and financial statements and participates in closing processes. Additional duties include loan accounting, consolidating subsidiaries, understanding and reconciling data across subsidiaries, and preparing quarterly accounting data reports for Nuveen LLC.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of accounting experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities and multiple tasks.
Nice To Haves
- At least 3 years of accounting experience.
- Previous experience using the NetSuite ledger and Salesforce.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Previous experience with subsidiary consolidations.
- Previous experience in loan accounting and accounting research.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with applicable regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, consolidated financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
- Perform monthly and quarterly close and consolidation processes, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
- Maintain accounting statements, reports, general ledger accounts, cost and revenue reports, balance sheets, and bank statement reconciliations.
- Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents and records, including invoice approvals, disbursements, expense vouchers, and wire payments.
- Research the impacts of new accounting standards, reporting requirements, and regulatory standards on transaction accounting.
- Perform loan accounting.
- Consolidate subsidiaries and understand and reconcile data across multiple subsidiaries.
- Prepare quarterly accounting data reports for Nuveen LLC.
