About The Position

This role allows you to guide the work of a skilled team responsible for processing payments and reviewing financial reports. You help ensure counties receive needed funding and that financial information meets established standards. This is an opportunity to advance your career while contributing to important statewide programs. This position oversees financial reporting and payment processes that support county human services programs. It ensures funding is accurate, compliant, and aligned with statewide financial standards.

Requirements

One year as an Accountant 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) or certification as a Public Accountant; or Four years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.
A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.

Opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the office in person for training and then twice per week.

Responsibilities

Supervise financial reporting, payment processing, and expenditure review activities
Analyze expenditure reports and financial information to ensure accuracy and compliance
Review regulations and policies to determine their effect on financial operations
Conduct quality control checks to confirm consistency and adherence to procedures
Assemble and interpret fiscal data to prepare reports and respond to information requests
Work with counties, program offices, and auditors to support financial processes
