About The Position

This position is responsible for entry level accounting processes, reporting, and accurate record keeping in assigned areas. Entry-level position – Generally has up to three years of experience and/or demonstrated job relevant knowledge/skills. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job; works under immediate supervision. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Up to three years of experience preferred
  • Knowledge of business accounting principles, budget preparation, and strong business acumen
  • Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) as it applies to the industry and company
  • Proficient in the use of computer programs and systems utilized by the company (DBS, CODA, Sage100c, Clarity, Microsoft Dynamics, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong research, problem solving and investigation skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including both written and oral
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational, planning, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline oriented
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Prepares monthly and year end journals to be reviewed by supervisor
  • Adhere to all Company deadlines and reporting requirements as set by management or from Federal, state, and local rules and regulations
  • Investigates and resolves balance sheet reconciling items on a timely basis
  • Assists with preparing internal financial reports and complete special projects as assigned Finance Managers and Leadership
  • Provides accounting assistance to business units and respond to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
