About The Position

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire an Account Technician I for the Madden Mental Health Center located in Hines, Illinois to coordinate the payroll functions. Verifies all payroll input conforms with union contracts, personnel rules, and DHS policies. Calculates and processes payroll adjustments. Performs random on-site audits for each Timekeeping Group. Enters all pertinent information in a timely and accurate manner into the Payroll System.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and completion of an approved training course or three (3) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
  • Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this class.
  • Requires the ability to attend and pass all mandatory training sessions, workshops and conferences.
  • Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Responsibilities

  • Performs technical accounting payroll functions for the Madden Mental Health Center, verifying payroll input conforms with union contracts, personnel rules, and Department of Human Services (DHS) policies.
  • Coordinates and reviews MHF-183B’s (Schedule Change Form) for accuracy and compliance to policy and procedures.
  • Keyboards all pertinent information in a timely and accurate manner into the Payroll System.
  • Functions independently with established guidelines and works directly with other departments within the facility and the Department of Human Services Central Payroll Office.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
