About The Position

The Account Specialist serves customers by completing new account setup, preparing quotations, order entry, resolving customer complaints, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role contributes to customer retention by strengthening and developing relationships with existing and new customers. Responsibilities include detailed account analysis to develop action/development plans, material layout and cost determination, execution of outbound sales campaigns, contacting prospective customers, maintaining communication with existing accounts, monitoring market trends, collecting and disseminating sales intelligence, backing up teammates, and assisting existing accounts, new accounts, and prospects.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively interact face-to-face, via e-mail or by telephone with customers.
  • Ability to effectively communicate findings and other relevant data to upper management.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions / resolutions.
  • Computer skills.
  • Use of common computer programs like Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to create hard and soft copy communication and presentations.
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, dependability, proactive mindset, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast- paced work environment where prioritization of workloads is critical on occasion.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • The collection and dissemination of relevant sales intelligence from all sales activities. This includes entry of relevant information into system and communication to relevant parties / individuals in the company.

  • Assist existing accounts and new accounts and prospects.
