About The Position

The Inside Sales Manager (UPM) is responsible for specifying actions necessary for customer segments growth, maintenance, or exit. This role involves assisting in the identification, development, and evaluation of marketing strategy, initiating customer campaigns, and assessing market potential. The Inside Sales Manager will confer with department heads and potential customers, discuss pricing, direct sales activities, monitor customer preferences, represent the company at trade associations, resolve customer complaints, and review operational records for sales forecasting and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university with five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents in English.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Specify actions necessary for customer segments growth, maintenance, or exit.
  • Assist in the identification, development, and evaluation of marketing strategy based on the knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.
  • Initiate customer campaigns, analyze their findings, and develop a strategy with the Marketing Department.
  • Assess market potential of new and existing markets with regard for potential, profitability, and business fit.
  • Confer or consult with department heads to plan campaigns and growth strategy.
  • Confer with potential customers regarding needs and advise customers on types of FMI capabilities and product offerings.
  • Discuss price schedules and discount rates with Marketing.
  • Direct and coordinate activities involving sales.
  • Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products with the Marketing department.
  • Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
  • Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
  • Directly supervises employees and oversees staff, possibly at multiple locations.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
