The Account Manager is primarily responsible for profitably growing sales in an assigned customer base and achieving assigned sales growth targets. This includes prospecting for new accounts and increasing core and cross-sell opportunities within existing customers. The role involves relentlessly driving customer success and delivering a seamless customer experience by leveraging White Cap tools and resources. This position requires the operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle, and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, the company will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report, and an acceptable MVR report is a requirement.

Requirements

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
  • Generally 2-5 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in a related field.
  • Certification is required in some areas.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
  • Operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle, consistently more than 20% of the average work week.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Miller Heiman’s Strategic Selling and Large Account Management Process concepts.
  • Prior experience in telesales and possession of proven phone sales skills.
  • Knowledge in company product line.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts business out in the field via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing customers.
  • Increases customer value through cross-selling.
  • Teams with individuals within the sales organization and key Shared Service support personnel to execute sales growth initiatives.
  • Forecasts, prospects, and bids for new business to include customers, markets, and additional service opportunities.
  • Develops and sustains sales relationships with key decision-makers and influencers on all levels of an organization.
  • Partners with customers, vendors, Credit, and A/R to quickly resolve customer service issues.
  • Maintains a current and competent base of product knowledge and applies that knowledge when servicing customers.
  • Maintains and submits all required sales administration reports.
  • Regularly attends company meetings.
