About The Position

Account Managers will work with target customers throughout North America to present Marmon Rail Repair Services different railcar/ tank car maintenance offerings and deliver the best possible solutions, fostering long term, “win-win” relationships. This position will manage Marmon customers, working to retain current business levels and grow new opportunities by understanding the customers’ railcar/tank car repair needs. Account Managers are the primary point of contact for maintenance inquiries and act as liaison between the customer and operations team in assigning programs and maintenance events to the best Marmon Rail solutions. Through the development of strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders within Marmon Rail, Account Managers will lead in curating the customer experience to meet client and Marmon Rail expectations. Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales.
  • Understanding of railcar/tank car maintenance cycles (HM 216, lining inspections etc).
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple firm deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Strong creative business writing skills are essential.
  • Ability to analyze business opportunities and make recommendations aligning with current business strategies.
  • Ability to participate in Sales and Marketing strategies.
  • Strong communication and project management skills to effectively liaise with all departments within the company.
  • Highly capable of maintaining internal relationships while working remotely.
  • Strong work ethic with the flexibility to put in extra hours when needed.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to perform public speaking for presentations and meetings.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to identify all cost elements within often complex requests for proposals.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing business dynamics.
  • Energetic and entrepreneurial approach with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 50%.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred.
  • Concentrated experience in railcar/tank car industries strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ascertain our customers maintenance needs and develop/communicate solutions that maximize the relationship value proposition.
  • Input timely/accurate updates to CRM and forecasting tools.
  • Align with the Operations team to deliver on the best possible customer experience.
  • Advocate the customer needs/expectations internally, while managing customer expectations and considering the Company’s demand/capabilities when offering solutions.
  • Work with Customer Support team to monitor Marmon Rail performance against customer expectations.
  • Represent the Company at various industries and customer events.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to sales functions, including preparing quotes and reviewing contracts in a manner that protects the Company.
