About The Position

The Account Manager role at the CAT Rental Store involves compiling lists of prospective customers, traveling to assigned territories to call on customers, and demonstrating products. The position requires quoting prices, preparing sales contracts, and maintaining a schedule to maximize field and office time. The Account Manager will track all quotes, pursue personal and professional growth, and represent the organization positively. This role also includes performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Formal Education: High School diploma or GED
• Experience: 1-2 years
• Able to easily and effectively comprehend written material and communicate orally and in writing with employees and customers.
• Job requires problem solving ability, established examples / guidance are not always available
• Job requires some creativity to generate solutions or improve effectiveness within well-established boundaries.
• Job is regularly monitored to determine outcomes. Assignments allow some discretion in decision making and setting priorities within well-established parameters.
• Job requirements occasionally change requiring re-training to stay current every 3-5 years.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university or related equivalent experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
• Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers at the store or by phone.
• Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog and emphasizes salable features.
• Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Maintains a schedule that maximizes the effectiveness of the time spent in the field and the office and provide this schedule to the Manager.
• Tracks all quotes including jobs won, jobs pending, jobs lost and jobs developing as required.
• Continued pursuit of personal and professional growth and development within industry.
• Represents the organization in a positive and professional way in appearance and all interactions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
