About The Position

The Account Manager will be responsible for ensuring profitable, sustainable, and collectible business with assigned accounts. This role involves closely monitoring service performance metrics, preparing new business proposals, coordinating cost estimating activities, and collaborating with various departments to solve problems impacting strategic objectives. The Account Manager will also manage customer communications, communicate supply and price trends, and keep informed about new products and services. They will communicate significant customer, market, or industry developments to the organization and ensure accurate forecast data is entered into ERP and/or S&OP systems. The role may involve creating formal presentations and preparing information for business review meetings. Additionally, the Account Manager will monitor adherence to contracts and supply agreements, assist in developing new business with existing customers, and collaborate with Sales and Supply Chain teams. Planning and scheduling customer visits, engaging in technical discussions, and understanding plant financial performance are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Experience in using Microsoft office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure business retained is profitable, sustainable, and collectible.
  • Closely monitor on-time delivery, quality statistics, and other service performance metrics with assigned accounts.
  • Prepare new business proposals using OMS cost estimating and quoting tools.
  • Coordinate or lead cost estimating activities with Manufacturing Analyst, Engineering, or Plant Management.
  • Collaborate with any departments at the plant or corporate level to solve problems that impact the ability to achieve strategic objectives with the account.
  • Collaborate with management to determine appropriate pricing levels for assigned accounts.
  • Manage any breakdown in customer communications.
  • Communicate supply and price trends to customers.
  • Keep informed on new products or services and other general information of interest to customers.
  • Communicate to the organization significant developments with customers, markets, or industries.
  • Assure that accurate forecast data is entered in ERP and/or S&OP.
  • May assist or lead in creating formal presentations to customers.
  • May assist or lead in the preparation and organization of the information needed to conduct the planned business review meetings with customers.
  • Monitor adherence by OMS and the customer to contracts, supply agreements, or memorandum of understanding (MOU) and report to management.
  • Assist others, as needed, in the development of new business with existing customers.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop an understanding of the customer’s position and product in the market.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to assure appropriate supply of raw material for customer demand.
  • Plan and schedule customer visits as needed to accomplish these duties and responsibilities.
  • Engage effectively in technical discussion with internal associates or our client’s personnel.
  • Understand the financial performance of the plant.
