This associate-level Account Manager position is responsible for discovering and procuring freight for the company's fleet, managing a designated territory (zone), developing customer relationships to ensure high fleet utilization, analyzing business opportunities for profitability and strategic alignment, and creating dispatch plans in collaboration with operational teams. Success in this role requires strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills to deliver a superior customer experience.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in logistics, business management, or a related field and at least one (1) years of experience in account management, sales, or a related field. An equivalent amount of education and experience may be considered.
  • At least two (2) years of experience managing staff or team projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business management, or a related field and at least three (3) years of experience in account management, sales, or a related field. An equivalent amount of education and experience may be considered.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in the transportation or logistics industries.

Responsibilities

  • Discover and book profitable freight within your zone to ensure high equipment utilization.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers to align expectations, address inquiries, solve problems, and identify opportunities for business expansion.
  • Collaborate closely with drivers to create dispatch plans, answer questions, and ensure that they're equipped for success.
  • Understand and review relevant key performance indicators and market trends to develop strategies to increase the performance of and enhance your region's profitability.
  • Identify new business opportunities by discovering and onboarding new customers as well as strengthening business relationships with current customers.
  • Effectively collaborate with internal teams to ensure high levels of communication and a seamless customer experience.
  • Review customer contracts to ensure that rates are accurate, competitive, and align with current market conditions.
