About The Position

The Account Manager, Virtual Business Centre, maintains relationships with clients in the small business segment to promote business development and customer loyalty.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business Administration
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a banker; proven sales skills and passion for entrepreneurship
  • Proven talent in business development and client relationship management
  • Ability to make sound credit decisions and a thorough understanding of credit policies and practices
  • Ability to identify business opportunities for entrepreneurs who will benefit from BDC's unique suite of services (financing and consulting)
  • In-depth knowledge of BDC products, services, policies and procedures
  • Excellent negotiation skills and a focus on results
  • Team player with a thorough understanding of the dynamics of small business and underserved markets
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage a high volume of client relationships
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a client growth and retention strategy to build a long-term profitable loan portfolio with clients, while providing high quality client service.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for financing and consulting services while focusing on the development of current portfolios.
  • Work as a team to provide outstanding client service and ensure smooth work sharing.
  • Develop and implement an individual and group marketing plan that is consistent with the strategy and goals of the Virtual Business Center portfolio.
  • Achieve financial goals related to expected loss rate, profitability, revenue growth and customer retention.
  • Use credit judgment to ensure loan proposals are of high quality, acceptable risk and meet established standards.
  • Ensures that they meet accepted credit criteria and comply with BDC policies and procedures.
  • Analyze, negotiate and prepare high quality loan proposals through thorough credit analysis, due diligence and sound account management practices.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in policies, procedures, and processes.
