About The Position

This role focuses on managing commercial aspects of customer accounts within the automotive industry. The Account Manager will be responsible for developing pricing and commercial proposals, negotiating with customers, and building strong customer relationships. Key activities include understanding customer commercial requirements, identifying and realizing commercial opportunities to improve financial performance, and managing various aspects of customer accounts such as RFQs, supply chain, and receivables resolution. The position also requires adherence to company policies, including International Operating System (IOS), Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Product Safety, Compliance, and Information Security requirements. The role demands the ability to multitask, professional interaction with stakeholders, and consistent attendance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-9 Minimum Years of Experience with combined Finance Management and/or Sales.
  • 3-5 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
  • Fluency in English (Reading, Writing, Speaking).

Nice To Haves

  • Master Degree preferred.
  • Experience in Automotive Manufacturing, Manufacturing, Technical Engineering/Program Management, or Technical Sales Representative preferred.
  • Experience with OEM RFQ Portals.
  • Experience with Vehicle forecast databases.
  • Experience with Piece price breakdowns.
  • Experience with Project Management software.
  • Advanced Excel/PowerPoint skills.
  • Japanese / Chinese / Korean language proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop pricing and commercial proposals and negotiate with customers.
  • Be intimate with customer commercial requirements and develop proposals that meet customer requirements and create value for YFSS.
  • Deliver customer’s information, solve customer’s problems, receive requests of information, deliver issues to related department, provide solutions, proposals, and obtain feedback.
  • Plan and negotiate commercial savings for current and future years.
  • Negotiate payment terms and develop transition plans.
  • Visit customers to gather information including business opportunities, volumes, capacity, and financial status.
  • Build strong relationships with customers.
  • Identify, pursue, and realize commercial opportunities that improve YFSS financial performance.
  • Collect 5-year business plan information from customers.
  • Fulfill customer requirements to address pricing and commercial needs, including creation of customers’ price breakdown forms, tooling price breakdown forms, and various requests for information needed to support commercial issues and claims.
  • Secure Purchase Orders (PO) and release them to internal departments.
  • Populate customers’ online quotation systems.
  • Negotiate Engineering Changes (Phase 2 - 5).
  • Handle Prototype Part Quotation.
  • Negotiate Engineering Development & Design (ED&D) and receive Purchase Orders.
  • Create and maintain Bump Charts, including Directed Component Bump Charts.
  • Develop, maintain, and track Customer Price Breakdown Forms and history.
  • Manage Customer Commercial Open Issues (Purchasing, SCE, CIT, Tooling, Operations).
  • Resolve Account Receivables issues, including customer escalations.
  • Perform Service Account Management tasks such as RFQ, supply chain, and plant moves.
  • Load information into Customer Portals.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related International Operating System (IOS) requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Product Safety requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related Compliance requirements.
  • Understand, apply, and meet all function-related IT / Information Security and confidentiality of YFAI information requirements.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Work additional hours and/or overtime as needed or assigned to complete job duties on time.
  • Multitask, interact politely and professionally with customers, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Maintain predictable and regular attendance, arrive to designated location on time, or be at assigned location ready to work for assignment (plant, corporate office, or remote).
