About The Position

The Account Manager – Estimating is responsible for managing client relationships while overseeing the estimating and proposal process for residential and commercial construction projects. This role acts as the bridge between sales, operations, estimating, and clients to ensure accurate pricing, strong communication, and a smooth transition from proposal to project execution. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and experienced in construction estimating, budgeting, and project coordination.

Requirements

  • Experience in construction estimating, project coordination, account management, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project sequencing.
  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient with estimating software, Microsoft Office, and project management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the estimating and preconstruction phase.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Conduct meetings, follow-ups, and project reviews with clients.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and communication throughout the estimating process.
  • Assist in resolving client concerns, scope clarifications, and pricing revisions.
  • Prepare detailed project estimates, budgets, and proposals.
  • Review architectural plans, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
  • Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Develop scope sheets and bid comparisons.
  • Ensure estimates align with company margin goals and project objectives.
  • Update pricing databases and estimating templates regularly.
  • Work closely with sales and business development teams to support project acquisition.
  • Prepare professional client proposals and presentations.
  • Assist with value engineering options and alternative solutions.
  • Track bid status, follow-ups, and proposal deadlines.
  • Maintain CRM and estimating pipeline updates.
  • Coordinate project handoff meetings with operations and project management teams.
  • Ensure all project scope, pricing, selections, and assumptions are properly documented.
  • Support procurement and scheduling teams as needed during project startup.
  • Maintain organized digital project files and documentation.
  • Track estimate performance, awarded projects, and hit ratios.
  • Generate estimating reports and forecasting updates.
  • Maintain accurate records of proposals, revisions, and approvals.
  • Assist leadership with budgeting and workload forecasting.
