About The Position

Ellsworth Adhesives, a global, industry-leading distributor of specialty chemicals and equipment and adhesive manufacturer, is seeking an Estimating Manager for its TapeCase division. This role, located in Elk Grove Village, IL, reports into Tape Case, LLC, an Ellsworth Corporation company. TapeCase designs, converts, manufactures, and distributes highly engineered adhesive tape products, offering custom tape solutions through expansive converting services. The Estimating Manager will lead and develop the estimating function, focusing on delivering accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for OEM and general converting opportunities, particularly in gasket and die-cut applications. This position also involves managing estimating operations, pricing strategy, and margin performance to ensure alignment with commercial objectives and manufacturing capabilities.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in estimating, quoting, engineering, or related role required.
High School diploma or GED required.
Proficient in Excel and estimating tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
Working knowledge of manufacturing cost structures (material yield, labor standards, machine rates, tooling).
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive process improvements.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

3+ years of management or people leadership experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience with cost modeling, pricing, and margin management preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Technical and Senior Technical Estimators, including hiring, performance management, and capability development.
Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of cost estimates to ensure accuracy across materials, labor, routing, tooling, overhead, manufacturability, and margin targets.
Execute pricing and margin strategies that balance competitiveness, profitability, and growth across OEM and general converting work.
Review complex or high-value opportunities and provide direction on materials, processes, tooling, and key cost drivers.
Ensure integrity and accuracy of estimating data within ERP systems, including BOMs, routings, and item master data.
