About The Position

Our client is an independent lumberyard serving contractors, builders, remodelers and residents in the Philadelphia region. They primarily supply framing lumber, drywall, millwork, doors, windows, hardware, and other building materials to professional contractors and developers. They are building a modern, data-driven sales organization and are seeking a high-performing Sales Manager to lead our team and expand our contractor and builder relationships. This role combines traditional relationship selling with modern analytics and AI-driven sales management tools.

Requirements

Experience in Lumber & Building Materials (LBM)
Building supply distribution experience
Construction sales experience
Contractor or builder sales experience
5–10+ years experience in building materials or construction sales
Experience managing a sales team
Strong contractor and builder relationship skills
Ability to analyze sales metrics and drive performance
Entrepreneurial mindset and leadership ability

Responsibilities

Lead and coach a team of inside and outside sales representatives
Conduct weekly sales meetings and pipeline reviews
Monitor contractor activity, quotes, and conversion rates
Develop and implement sales strategy
Build relationships with builders, developers, and framing contractors
Identify and pursue large construction opportunities
Increase contractor share-of-wallet by expanding product categories
Utilize our sales dashboard and analytics system to track performance
Monitor key metrics such as: quotes issued, win rate, gross profit, contractor activity
Use data to drive team performance and profitability
Maintain margin discipline
Work with vendors and purchasing to improve product mix
Focus on profitable growth
