The Fraud Prevention Department supports the Credit Union through fraud monitoring and risk mitigation. Account Fraud Investigators review accounts and transactions across channels—including bill pay, checks, ACH, and wires—to identify fraudulent activity and mitigate losses to the Credit Union and its members. They monitor and take action on new account openings, loan originations, remote account access and deposits, and other transactional activity to help secure members’ funds and minimize risk of loss. This position may be performed onsite or in a hybrid arrangement, with 1–2 days per week onsite at the East Lansing Headquarters. The standard schedule is 40 hours per week during operating hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.; and rotating Saturdays, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Employees who work a Saturday receive a consistent day off during the week to offset their hours. Scheduled hours may change based on business needs and department growth. Employment is contingent on the agreed work arrangement and work location, and changes to arrangements or work outside the employee’s city or state of residence may not be accommodated. The Level I role investigates and responds to suspected account fraud, communicates with members and Credit Union employees, documents investigative activity, applies relevant regulatory and internal requirements, and supports fraud mitigation strategies. It also requires protecting assets, maintaining operational controls, and providing informed guidance to members.
