About The Position

The Account Executive is responsible for servicing the broker community and/or clients. The Account Executive will act as the primary contact between The Health Plan and client/broker; will provide account management functions; and will be primarily responsible for determining client's needs and addressing those needs. The Account Executive will prepare for account strategy independently or in conjunction with the client’s broker/consultant. The Account Executive will also provide education, training, guidance and other duties for assigned groups.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and prospects.
  • Proven experience as an Account Executive or in other sales/customer service role.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Valid driver's license and mode of transportation.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain agent license within three months of hire date.
  • Demonstrates high level of integrity, discretion and sound judgement when handling confidential information.
  • At least 2-years experience with FSA, HRA, and HSA accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Design health plan structures for prospective or current clients, including making determinations about the products to be offered.
  • Prepare presentations to prospective and/or current clients regarding proposed health plan structures.
  • Facilitate the re-enrollment process with current clients.
  • Make recommendations regarding additional products to be offered to clients based upon personalized knowledge of the client’s account and needs.
  • Make determinations regarding employee eligibility requirements for client plans.
  • Make recommendations regarding the resolution of claims appeals.
  • Make recommendations regarding approval or denial of payment of claims.
  • Serve as the primary contact between the client and the underwriting department as part of the rate setting process.
  • Revise, finalize and approve language in health plan member handbooks and Summary of Benefits and Coverage documents reflecting benefits to be offered.
  • Execution of contracts with clients for the provision of health insurance plans.
  • Responsible for the implementation of new and renewing clients.
  • Assist in preparation of client renewal premium rates, contracts, and exhibits for presentation to client/broker.
  • Provide professional after-sales support to enhance the clients' dedication.
  • Responsible for maintaining frequent contact with the clients to understand and address their needs.
  • Respond to complaints and resolve issues to ensure client satisfaction and the preservation of The Health Plan's reputation.
  • Build and maintain lasting relationships with clients and brokers by understanding focus and needs and anticipating them in advance.
  • Facilitate meetings with benefit managers/brokers and/or key decision makers in current clients.
  • Participate in community activities to reflect a positive image of The Health Plan.
  • Prepare reports and analysis of performance for assigned clients.
  • Stay current with company offerings and industry trends.
  • Oversee and achieve organizational goals while upholding best practices.
  • Support and solve problems for clients by understanding and exceeding their expectations.
  • Illustrate the value of products and services to create growth opportunities; compile and analyze data to identify trends.
  • Participate in brainstorming, office activities, staff meetings and client meetings, researching and assisting with program development for existing clients and new prospects.
  • Follow up with clients regularly to ensure needs are being met and identify opportunities.
