About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Account Executive to join our Managed Service Provider (MSP) sales team. This role combines aggressive new business development with strategic account management, requiring a self-starter who excels at prospecting, building relationships, and closing deals in a competitive IT services market. You will be responsible for both hunting new opportunities and nurturing existing client relationships to drive recurring revenue growth. The ideal candidate is competitive, goal-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment where persistence, strategic thinking, and consultative selling are keys to success.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in B2B technology sales, preferably with an MSP, IT reseller, SaaS, or managed services company.
• Proven track record of successful outbound prospecting, lead generation, and closing new business.
• Strong understanding of IT managed services, cloud solutions (Microsoft 365, Azure), and cybersecurity offerings.
• Excellent communication, active listening, cold-calling, and objection-handling skills.
• Hands-on proficiency with HubSpot Sales & Automation – demonstrated experience with workflows, reporting, and lead management.
• ConnectWise experience – familiarity with opportunity management, contract tracking, and PSA integration.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet aggressive targets in a metrics-driven environment.
• Familiarity with recurring revenue/subscription-based service models.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and endpoint management solutions.
• Prior experience selling to IT decision-makers and C-level executives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
• Familiarity with industry verticals (healthcare, finance, manufacturing, etc.).
• Experience with other PSA/CRM platforms like HubSpot or ConnectWise.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, and target potential clients within SMB and mid-market segments using data-driven prospecting strategies.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities through consistent outbound prospecting and lead generation.
• Execute multi-channel outreach campaigns via cold calling, email, LinkedIn, and networking events to generate qualified leads.
• Qualify inbound and outbound leads efficiently, moving them through the sales funnel with clear qualification criteria.
• Conduct discovery calls to understand prospect pain points, IT infrastructure challenges, security concerns, and business objectives.
• Deliver engaging, consultative presentations and compelling proposals to decision-makers addressing their specific needs.
• Close new business deals and meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, serving as their primary point of contact for strategic initiatives.
• Manage ongoing account health, ensuring customer satisfaction, contract compliance, and retention.
• Understand client business needs and objectives; develop customized MSP solutions (managed IT, cloud, cybersecurity, etc.) that address their specific requirements.
• Conduct thorough needs assessments to evaluate IT infrastructure, identify challenges, and align solutions with business goals.
• Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service-level agreements, ensuring mutual satisfaction and compliance with company policies.
• Drive account growth through upselling, cross-selling, and expansion opportunities aligned with client needs.
• Develop and execute a territory plan to systematically pursue target accounts and manage pipeline efficiently.
• Maintain accurate CRM records of all prospecting activities, client interactions, and sales opportunities using HubSpot and ConnectWise.
• Provide regular reports on pipeline status, lead generation metrics, forecasted revenue, and sales performance.
• Leverage sales tools and platforms (CRM, sales engagement, data enrichment) to manage outreach and track activity.
• Stay current with MSP industry trends, emerging technologies, competitive offerings, and market conditions.
• Partner with technical teams (sales engineers, service delivery) to design tailored solutions and ensure proposed offerings are viable and compelling.
• Work closely with marketing to refine outbound messaging, campaigns, and positioning.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of sales playbooks, prospecting scripts, qualification frameworks, and sales processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, technical staff) to align strategies, share insights, and ensure effective execution.
