About The Position

This role involves driving revenue and customer engagements for a leader in the Cloud Computing business, specifically focusing on increasing the adoption of Amazon Web Services (AWS) by engaging with nonprofit research organizations in sectors like Life Sciences/Genomics, Healthcare, Social/academic policy, Environmental or Applied Sciences Research. Nonprofit research organizations are increasingly adopting AWS to reduce capital expenditures, drive efficiencies, and reallocate resources to their core missions. The Account Executive will help shape and deliver a strategy focused on customer success, building mind share, and driving broad use of AWS services to support these organizations' missions. The ideal candidate will possess sales and/or consulting experience in this market, a strong understanding of segment-specific challenges, and established relationships within the customer and consulting communities. This role requires an analytical thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments, has a strong technical interest, and a passion for nonprofits. The individual must be a self-starter capable of developing and executing an account coverage plan, with a background in strategic engagement at the CxO level and with IT leadership and architects being critical for success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of full sales cycle, technology sales or equivalent business development, sales engineering/consulting or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software
  • Experience (technical or educational) in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Bachelor's degree, or experience with C-level sales and strategic partnership building

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue and market share in a defined territory and within the research vertical
  • Meet or exceed quarterly revenue targets.
  • Develop and execute against a comprehensive account/territory plan.
  • Create & articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services specific to the CxO level.
  • Accelerate customer adoption.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption.
  • Manage contract negotiations.
  • Develop long-term strategic relationships with key accounts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Expect moderate travel.
