About The Position

We’re looking for a strong Commercial Account Associate, Trade Credit & Complex Risks to support our specialized Commercial Lines accounts in Toronto. This role requires someone who is responsive, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with strong time management skills and a solid understanding of complex commercial insurance placements. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong technical and systems experience who is interested in trade credit, structured risk solutions, and complex commercial exposures across a diverse client portfolio.

Requirements

  • Valid RIBO license or ability to obtain in short order required
  • Typically 2–3 years of commercial insurance experience, ideally within Trade Credit, Financial Lines, or Complex Risks.
  • Strong aptitude to learn complex risks and emerging market trends, including economic and geopolitical factors impacting clients.
  • Results-oriented and client-focused, with a strong sense of accountability and relationship management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to accuracy.
  • A solid team player who also possesses independence of thought and initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with broker management systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to trade credit insurance, surety, political risk, or structured commercial placements is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting market negotiations on commercial policies is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Trade Credit and Complex Risk client accounts, including renewals, policy documentation, submissions, binders, certificates, invoicing, and endorsements.
  • Support the administration of trade credit policies, including buyer reporting requirements, limit requests, policy amendments, and insurer correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical client files in compliance with HUB standards and broker management systems.
  • Support clients by responding to inquiries, preparing renewal documentation, and participating in client and insurer meetings.
  • Review and proof policies, calculate provincial taxes, prepare premium finance quotes, and ensure accuracy of account documentation.
  • Coordinate with insurers and underwriters on submissions, follow up on outstanding items, and assist with negotiations for complex commercial and trade credit placements.
  • Track reporting timelines, policy expiries, receivables, and outstanding documentation to ensure timely processing and service delivery.
  • Monitor receivables, assist with collections, and help minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Perform administrative support tasks, including database management, third-party requests, insurance-related research, and preparation of underwriting information.
  • Support the servicing of clients with domestic and multinational exposures across a variety of industries and complex risk profiles.
  • Ensure compliance with HUB standards in file management, including preparing files for storage and audit readiness.
