About The Position

As an Accessioner, you will be integral in preparing, handling, and processing laboratory specimens. This role is ideal for someone with a background in biology, chemistry, or a related medical field and who is comfortable working with urine and blood specimens. Requirements

High school diploma or GED (Required). Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field (Preferred).
At least 1 year of experience as an Accessioner (Preferred, not required). Laboratory experience (Preferred).
Proficient in data entry with a minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (Required).
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment (Required).
Comfortable handling urine and blood specimens (Required).

Nice To Haves

Experience in a medical field (e.g., doctor's office, patient care, pharmacy technician)

Responsibilities

Specimen Processing: Prepare and process laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Organization: Unpack and organize specimens to their designated areas.
Identification and Labeling: Accurately identify and label specimens.
Goal Achievement: Achieve departmental goals for activity and production.
Specimen Management: Manage and store excess specimen samples effectively.
Data Entry: Conduct precise and timely data entry of patient information.
Problem Resolution: Address and document issues with problem specimens.
Document Handling: Scan and handle patient information documents.
