About The Position

JPMorgan Chase is seeking an Accessibility Lead, Vice President for the Employee Experience Design team to drive employee experience transformation. This role will be at the forefront of promoting accessibility in components and design patterns across the firm's digital properties, including web and mobile applications, and digital documents. The lead will work across the product lifecycle, identify and suggest solutions for accessibility barriers, ensure compliance with accessibility standards and laws, coach colleagues, use data to suggest improvements, and build stakeholder relationships. The position requires expert-level knowledge of accessibility barriers, tools, and techniques, and a passion for mentoring and developing accessibility specialists. The role also involves engaging with a global network of internal accessibility leads and specialists.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in engaging accessibility in digital UI functions
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Staying ahead of emerging standards and technologies (web, mobile, document) and analyzing impacts to company standards
  • Expert knowledge of accessibility standards including WCAG 2.1 and 2.2, ADA, and Section 508
  • Expert-level experience in accessibility on a minimum of one of the following platforms, and familiarity with a broad range web accessibility on Windows and macOS, Mobile accessibility on Android and iOS, PDF accessibility and digital document standards, Video and other digital media
  • Working proficiency and development skills in both of the following platforms: Web development – semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA and Mobile accessibility expertise on Android and iOS.
  • Broad knowledge of digital assistive technologies, familiarity with tools for automated and guided accessibility testing.
  • Understanding of processes in the product development lifecycle, including testing, documenting, and prioritizing defects, teamwork, collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution

  • Ability to leverage industry knowledge to discern future trends.

Responsibilities

  • Testing, identifying and suggesting potential solutions for accessibility barriers based on WCAG 2.1 standards and PDF/UA as well as compliance with the ADA, Section 508, the Twenty-First Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act, and other accessibility related laws.
  • Recommending solutions to maintain compliance while creating accessible digital products for an excellent employee experience.
  • Applying accessibility knowledge to a wide range of the firm’s digital properties, including mobile applications, and digital documents by providing in-depth accessibility guidance for our primary employee-facing design system.
  • Coaching and training team members, colleagues and clients in one on one, small group, or large forum environments including leading technical discussions and decision-making to resolve complex issues.
  • Using data on accessibility issues within products to identify, report on and suggest improvements to the product.
  • Collaborating across roles throughout the product design lifecycle (product, design, dev, testing) to recommend accessibility in design system components and patterns.
  • Building relationships among stakeholders to foster support for digital accessibility and communicate changes to policies and procedures.
