About The Position

Access Support Workers are responsible for transporting and supporting children, youth, and parents for family access visits, attendance for appointments, and other miscellaneous transportation needs as requested by the Social Workers in our various Child and Family Wellbeing Programs. This opportunity is for a Relief Roster for Bridgewater, Liverpool, and Shelburne locations. This Roster will be used to fill multiple relief opportunities over the next several months.

Requirements

Completed an approved child & youth care worker diploma from a provincially approved post-secondary institution, or have at least two (2) years of related experience supporting children, youth, and/or families.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to travel.
Access to a reliable vehicle.
Personal vehicle must be properly equipped for the transportation of infants and children.
Ability to communicate in a professional manner using tact and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive situations.

Nice To Haves

Experience in child welfare or other social services, including daycare or youth services.

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety of children and provide basic childcare and transportation services.
Provide oversight during contact between children and their immediate and extended families and support networks.
Complete documentation confirming interactions.
Raise any issues that arise.
Perform other related duties to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Provincial Access and Transportation Program.
