Requirements

  • Experience in mechanical, construction, or installation-related work preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, installation instructions, or blueprints
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in field environments
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Strong attention to detail and job site organization
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company and customer standards
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and variable job site conditions
  • Valid driver's license with strong driving record - must be insurable by company insurance program

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating forklifts, stock pickers, or similar material handling equipment
  • Basic MIG welding experience for light gauge materials

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and modify commercial doors, frames, and architectural hardware systems in field environments
  • Inspect materials for accuracy, sizing, and readiness before installation
  • Read and interpret work orders, hardware schedules, and installation instructions
  • Operate forklifts, stock pickers, and other material handling equipment as needed
  • Load, unload, and transport doors, frames, hardware, and related materials safely
  • Troubleshoot on-site installation challenges and provide real-time solutions
  • Identify and resolve work order discrepancies to ensure accurate installation completion
  • Record job notes, updates, and discrepancies on work orders
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, warehouse staff, and customers regarding job status and issues
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe job sites while following all company and customer safety standards
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, hammers, grinders, and related equipment
  • Adapt to changing job site conditions, schedules, and customer needs
