About The Position

Discovery Ranch for Boys is a relationship-based residential treatment center for young men with emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders, including depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships, trauma, and substance abuse. The center uses experiential therapy and is located in Mapleton, Utah, next to the Uinta National Forest in the southern Wasatch Range.

The Academic Tutor works one-on-one with students to help them achieve academic goals in Math, Science, and/or English. The tutor also helps create a safe, supervised environment and uses a strengths-based approach to help students recognize their positive qualities. Relationships with students are central to the healing process and to supporting lasting change.

This is a part-time, entry-level position with opportunities to advance. The listed schedule is Monday through Thursday, 3:00–8:30 p.m., and Friday, 2:00–5:00 p.m., with flexible hours. Pay is $17 per hour.

Requirements

• Able to pass a criminal investigation background check.
• First Aid and CPR certification; the employer may provide it.
• ICC certification; the employer may provide it.
• Academic tutoring experience is preferred but not required.
• Resume should include education, work experience, certifications, and licenses.
