About The Position

The Maritime Business Administration Department (MARA) in the College of Marine Sciences & Maritime Studies at Texas A&M University located on the Galveston Campus invites applications for up to 5 full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) and/or Temporary/Part-Time (Non-Tenure) positions at various instructional professor and lecturer levels. These positions offer a 4.5-month or 9-month academic appointment, with the possibility of a summer appointment. Successful applicants will be responsible for organizing, delivering, evaluating, and assessing courses in areas such as accounting, finance, marketing, operations management, law, economics, business analytics, strategic management, cybersecurity, logistics, and supply chain management. They will also advise and mentor students, participate in departmental activities, and serve the profession. Academic Professional Track (APT) faculty are integral to the college, working under renewable nine-month contracts with potential for multi-year appointments after promotion. A promotion ladder is available for those focused on teaching. The department offers unique undergraduate and graduate programs in Maritime Business, providing a strong foundation in core business areas and specialized maritime industry topics. Texas A&M University at Galveston is the dedicated marine and maritime branch campus, contributing to the blue economy through education, innovation, scholarship, and research. It offers degrees in marine sciences, business, blue humanities, marine engineering, and maritime transportation, as well as select engineering degrees. The Texas A&M Maritime Academy, one of six in the U.S., provides hands-on training for cadets to become maritime professionals. The campus's location in Galveston Bay offers students direct engagement with marine life, ecosystems, and the maritime industry.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in accounting, finance, marketing, operations management, law, economics, business analytics, strategic management, cybersecurity, logistics, supply chain management, international trade, inland waterways management, brokerage & chartering, marine risk & insurance, project management, organizational behavior, transportation economics, and/or port and terminal management or a closely related discipline in the field in which the faculty member will teach.
  • OR Master’s degree in accounting, finance, marketing, operations management, law, economics, business analytics, strategic management, cybersecurity, logistics, supply chain management, international trade, inland waterways management, brokerage & chartering, marine risk & insurance, project management, organizational behavior, transportation economics, and/or port and terminal management or a closely related discipline in the field in which the faculty member will teach and significant teaching experience at the college level or an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting.
